In his sprawling restoration shop, which has seen so many Jaguar and SS sports and racing cars brought back to life, there stands a crusty relic that must rate among the top echelon of all “barn finds.”
The low-slung form is that of a 1938 SS-100, a rare piece of Jaguar pre-war history that had been hidden away in a New Jersey storage shed for the past 60 years. And not only was it parked in 1958 and then largely forgotten, essentially no one in the global Jaguar community of owners and enthusiasts even knew it existed.

The Jaguar F-PACE has scooped the prestigious World Car of Year and World Car Design of the Year titles at this year's 2017 World Car Awards.
The Solihull workforce are celebrating following news that the Jaguar F-PACE, built at Jaguar Land Rover's flagship manufacturing plant, has been named the best and most beautiful car in the world.
Proud employees from across the plant came together to mark the incredible achievement which saw the F-PACE beat off stiff competition from the Audi Q5, Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet, and the Toyota C-HR at the World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year awards at the New York Auto Show.
The performance crossover is Jaguar’s fastest-selling model ever. In the first month after its US and UK launch, it was met with an extremely positive response – with over 3,000 global sales during May. This helped propel Jaguar to its best May in over a decade, with sales up 90% on the previous year. F-PACE accounted for around one third of the 10,633 vehicles sold.
The all-new Jaguar XF today made its global motor show debut in New York. Formed around Jaguar’s aluminium-intensive architecture, the all-new XF will bring an unrivalled blend of design, luxury, technology, dynamic capability and efficiency to the business car segment.
